# storybranch > Alpha open-source visual testing for Storybook 10+: capture stories as PNGs, pixel-diff against baselines in git, review locally. Not on npm yet — clone the repo and run the CLI from your app. Storybook must already be running at a URL Chromium can reach. Chromatic `modes` or `viewports` on a story become extra snapshots; both on one story is an error. `storybranch test --url ` exits **1** when a snapshot needs attention. Failure lines: `missing baseline `, `pixels `, `size `, `stale `. A clean run prints `ok`. Inventory: `.storybranch/report.json`. The **first run** exits 1 with `missing baseline` for every shot — that is the baseline set, not a broken install. Commit only `.storybranch/baseline/`. Ignore `.storybranch/actual/`, `.storybranch/diff/`, and `.storybranch/report.json`. Run `approve` only when asked to accept shots. `review` and `--open` are for a person. Until publish: `bun /path/to/storybranch/apps/cli/src/cli.ts`. After publish: `bunx storybranch`. Install: clone [github.com/adriangohjw/storybranch](https://github.com/adriangohjw/storybranch), `bun install`, `bunx playwright install chromium`, `bun run build`. ## Docs - [README](https://github.com/adriangohjw/storybranch#readme): install, usage, CI, monorepo development - [Quick start & For agents](https://github.com/adriangohjw/storybranch#quick-start): clone path, exit codes, AGENTS.md snippet - [Agent snippet on the site](https://storybook.adriangohjw.com/#agents): copy-paste `.gitignore` and AGENTS.md for your Storybook app - [How it works on the site](https://storybook.adriangohjw.com/#how): three-command workflow ## Optional - [GitHub repository](https://github.com/adriangohjw/storybranch): source, issues, license (MIT) - [Review UI demo](https://storybook.adriangohjw.com/#review): interactive mock of the local review UI
